General Priesthood Leadership Meeting
In IBA Philippines Stake

Today a program was prepare for all Priesthood holders to Join in General Priesthood Leadership Meeting. We went through with my grandson in-law a newly baptized and ordained as a deacon. My son was with me but he is not yet a priesthood holder.

The first speaker talks about serving a mission and he made his preparation looking forward on his service. He talks about some of President Nelson's talk last conference about "Preaching the Gospel of Peace"

The second speaker talk more about the importance of Melchizedek Priesthood and how it affects in his life. I would just skip some parts of his personal talks.

The Stake Patriarch made his talks about his call. He encourage us to use the priesthood we have as a father or a priesthood holder of the Family. He also encourage everyone to have their patriarchal blessings and invite them grab it.

The Stake President gave his instructions to separate the brethren for trainings, I was assign in the Deacon Office since the assigned person wasn't around.

I open up some instructions in handbook and some scripture found in it. Here's some of the words in Doctrine and Covenants 20 -

57 And is to be assisted always, in all his duties in the church, by the deacons, if occasion requires.

58 But neither teachers nor deacons have authority to baptize, administer the sacrament, or lay on hands;

59 They are, however, to warn, expound, exhort, and teach, and invite all to come unto Christ.

And in Doctrine and Covenants 84 -

111 And behold, the high priests should travel, and also the elders, and also the lesser priests; but the deacons and teachers should be appointed to watch over the church, to be standing ministers unto the church.

The Stake President made his comments and gave a scriptural quote in Doctrine and Covenants 90 -

15 And set in order the churches, and study and learn, and become acquainted with all good books, and with languages, tongues, and people.

16 And this shall be your business and mission in all your lives, to preside in council, and set in order all the affairs of this church and kingdom.

17 Be not ashamed, neither confounded; but be admonished in all your high-mindedness and pride, for it bringeth a snare upon your souls.

18 Set in order your houses; keep slothfulness and uncleanness far from you.

After his remarks the second councilor conclude the meeting. President Arabello taught us the difference between the power and the authority of the priesthood. He then quote in Doctrine and Covenants 121

34 Behold, there are many called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen?
35 Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this world, and aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson—
36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.
37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.

Lastly, he quoted Christ words and his instructions to everyone who holds the priesthood.

Matthew 28:
19¶ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

There were much learnings as I taught the young men for their preparations in their future callings as a Priesthood holders, but I couldn't write some of it here.

Some of the documents I found look like its worth preservation. I don't know if it's worth something or maybe I could earn a living out of it. JK 🤣

Anyways, here are some of her Call, letters and other things I found during her Mission somewhere in the Philippines Naga Mission. She loves her Mission so much so I started to preserve some of her pictures that perhaps a short 18 months of her Mission has a valuable memory.
