Satan the Father of Lie: by Jose Magadia

Jose Magadia made another attempt to silence the LDS teachings and theology. Let's try to see it up and hope we could address some of his concerns to enlighten his understanding.

From Comment section.

Below were some of the words he tries to point out and we'll give a good commentary about it -

Satan is the Father of lies, how can people believe when he was the first to say that we can become like God?

Basically, You're right in pointing out that Satan is referred to as "the father of lies" in scriptural texts (John 8:44). His deception started early on when he tempted Eve by saying, "Ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5). It's crucial to understand the context and how truth can be twisted.

Satan's deception lies not in the mere statement that we can become like God, because becoming like our Heavenly Father is indeed part of the divine plan and the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are taught that we are children of God and that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and through our faithfulness to God's commandments, we can indeed progress and become more like Him—this is a central core of the Gospel. However, what Satan left out in his temptation was the means by which we achieve this divine potential. He sought to undermine God’s plan, offering a shortcut that was in reality a dead end, bypassing the essential elements of agency, obedience, and the atonement of Jesus Christ.

God's plan for our eternal progression is based on principles of righteousness, obedience, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which provides a way for us to overcome sin and become perfected through Him. The idea that we can become like God is about eternal progression and becoming perfected through Christ, not about usurping God’s power or seeking divine status through disobedience or rebellion.

Your question underscores the importance of understanding the full context of gospel principles and not being misled by partial truths or distortions.

And also, some important thing to remember. Satan can use God's words mingled with lies. It’s interesting to see how that works, isn't it Jose Magadia? Satan is pretty cunning, using truth mixed with misrepresentations to confuse and deceive. For example, in the New Testament, during the Savior's temptation in the wilderness, Satan quoted scripture to Jesus, trying to tempt Him to misuse His divine power (see Matthew 4:6). Even though he used God's words, he twisted their context and purpose to mislead and tempt.

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Was Satan Lying in using the Scripture? No, it's not and he quoted it perfectly, the only thing that makes him cunning was his intention to stop Christ preparations for his Mission or Ministry. But the scripture he use is not a lie at all and infact it is there Psalm 91:11-12.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

And going back to your arguments where Satan use a lie to mislead Adam to eat the fruit of the tree. No it's not a lie and Genesis 3:22 did not nullified Satan's words at all.

This simply shows why it's so crucial for us to not only read scripture but to study it deeply and understanding it's context werr ways we can stay spiritually sharp and less susceptible to being misled.

Lds constantly cite Genesis 3:22 and it is a doctrine of Satanic rebellion preaching the pathway to godhood and proud that of Satan's is Lds' way, truth and life!

Genesis 3:22 is not Satanic Rebellion but rather a truth that God declares were we have the very potential as they are. God never said it's a satanic rebellion but rather it's a test of their Agency and how they use there free well in keeping the commandments. Keep in mind Jose Magadia, God planted that Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil for a purpose, it shouldn't be there on the first place in the Garden of Eden if it is cursed or Satanic, the only thing Satan fail to understand was that God has a purpose in leaving Adam with his wife to use their Agency wisely. Of course you don't know that since it is theologically deep for you.

Moving on to our conclusion -

…Instead, Genesis 3:22 was part of God’s negative response to the rebellion: it included:

👉 Banished from the garden forever (v. 23-24)
👉 Adam literally became heading for the dustbin (v. 19)
👉 The ground to be tilled was cursed (vv. 17-18)
👉 Childbirth would become sorrowful/painful (v. 16)
👉 Eve was to be ruled by her husband (v. 16)
👉 Besides, if “knowing good from evil” equated to godhood, then Brigham was right: Adam WAS god as soon as he rebelled… HE WAS PUNISHED as he was a “god while still on earth”

As I had said, it is not Satanic Rebellion and it is not a negative response. God would never use that word as negative and every soul that ever step in this world has a potential to become like Him. We are all God's Children and it is never his plan to leave us astray. Thought there were disadvantage after the fall such as on the list that you think it was, but you should consider that God wants his children to learn and understand the opposite instead of leaving in paradise without a knowledge of everything. God would never allow that and it's the reason why the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was planted for that purpose as I have said a while ago.

Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he partake of the tree of life, and live for ever: - Genesis 3:22 KJV

Other biblical passage would sustain this biblical claim

Psalm 82:6 "I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High." This verse supports the idea that we are, in a sense, to become like God. It speaks to our divine heritage and potential.

John 10:34-36 Jesus quotes Psalm 82:6, "Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?" This is in response to people who were upset with Him for saying He was the Son of God. Jesus uses this scripture to affirm the potential for divinity within us, as His brothers and sisters.

Philippians 2:5-6 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God." Here, Paul writes about Jesus Christ's divine nature and mission, paralleling our journey to become more like Christ (and thereby more like God).

2 Peter 1:4 "...whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature..." Peter talks about becoming "partakers of the divine nature," which ties back to the idea of progressing toward Godhood as we follow Christ.

Regarding the Adam God theory, was actually a different subject which you tried to insert but has nothing to do about the matter, but we will add that on our next article. I just don't understand why you keep mixing things up while the context wasn't even intended on the subject.

If you like to dive more deeply feel free to talk to Missionaries and learn the doctrine of the Plan of Salvation, so you may be enlightened. Thank you and have a nice Day.
