The Philippines Dynamite Stick - a.k.a. Lumpiang Dynamita
I took a picture of this kind of Street Food. First time I meet this one so I took an opportunity to have it a taste. I thought its just an eggplant as what I saw on it's tips, but it's Chili. I don't know how did they cook it, so I grab some of the online recipes from other blogs and paste it here for future reference. Anyway, it's delicious to and sizzling. Love it.
I will be experimenting recipes of this one soon. For now, will use it.
Recipe
Ingredients:
◾ ground pork
◾ Long Chili (Siling Haba, Siling Pang-sinigang)
◾ Lumpia Wrapper (Spring Roll Egg Wrapper)
◾ Cheese (cut into strips)
◾ Oil
For Ground Pork
◾ Small onion (minced)
◾ cloves of garlic (minced)
◾ Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Optional
◾ Egg
◾ Bread Crumbs
Instruction
1. In a pan, sauté onion, garlic and ground pork. Season with salt and ground pepper. Cook until pork turns brown. Set aside and let it cool.
2. Wash the long chilli. Remove the seeds.
3. Fill it with the ground pork and cheese strips
4. Wrap it with lumpia wrapper. Seal the edges with water or egg whites. OPTIONAL: Roll it onto beaten egg and then to bread crumbs)
5. Fry until golden brown.
