Top 10 Facts The Mormon Church Doesn’t Want Its Members To Know: Part 1 - Fact #10
A post from Mary Jo Avery From Christianity Versus Mormonism Link of her post here. |
Okay, since they are so critical about it then let's try refuting their critical. Here's the list inside that site. Id copied that articles and made my comments on it on different text colored. See below -
An article posted July 20 at the NY Times website sent shock waves throughout The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, otherwise known as the Mormon church. Hans Mattson, a Swedish “Area Authority” (equivalent to a Cardinal) overseeing the church’s works in Europe, provided an interview expressing doubts about the church after learning of historical facts online that are never taught in Sunday School classes. Among the facts he found out include the truth surrounding Joseph Smith’s polygamous ways and some historical inconsistencies with the church’s scriptures, such as the Book of Mormon.
I don't know about it and I have no time digging his own version of truth that never taught in Sunday School, perhaps people got caught sometimes in history that no one knows the actual setting, they just keep digging it and sort it that perhaps someone use it against the church. History is history and every church has it. The sad thing is not all history leads us directly to the actual setting or events. I just don't know why are they so concern about it while it wasn't even practice in today's world. Same goes biblical. Anyway, let's take a look.
That a high-ranking church official had not been aware of these facts throughout his church membership reveals the great lengths to which the Mormon church had gone in hiding the many truths that paint the church in a bad light. And with that, here are ten facts the Mormon Church would not want its members to know.
I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with salvation and Christ. So why would the church or a Sunday School taught that when it wasn't all about the welfare of one's soul? Does the other churches taught that way to their members digging something on their history? I don't think so.
10. Joseph Smith Married Girls As Young As 14

While the practice of polygamy in the church’s early days is fairly common knowledge today, Mormon leaders and average members normally justify that by saying that it was done only to protect the widows at a time when male Mormon members were dying due to persecution. Yet a quick search of Joseph Smith’s genealogy at church-owned FamilySearch.org would prove that he was married to teenage girls. Documents further show that the youngest girl that Joseph Smith married was Helen Mar Kimball, who was 14 years old at the time of marriage. One would have to really stretch the truth to believe that these teenage girls were widows that needed to be taken cared of.
Just as Expected, so does the Antagonist thinks about it us unrevealed. This was even post in the official site that even Helen Mar Kimball testify about Joseph's practice of Polygamy. Click on the Link here here some of Helen's words about the Practice and how she describe Joseph Smith’s Polygamy issue.
Check on the Woman View and Why Practice Plural Marriage by Helen Mar Kimball and how she address this concerns publicly and her view about Plural Marriage.
Okay, so what was this all about? Just same old trash collected over and over recycling history that people didn't even know the actual events. Just a common criticism for a newbie.

Will still be true?
A screenshot of an OP She then drags the topic To True Prophet. |
Actually, this is not about an LDS Prophet Issue, and in fact, there are lots of Doctors and Science who provides ample evidence and research to cure the sickness or viruses. The side effects or maybe something that cause our body to resist wasn't about the cure or the medicine, it was all about our body's Immune System. And some people think this vaccine was created to destroy human health and some even think it was all about the New World Order. These too many assumptions cause even more stress to this current situation of COVID cases. How many humans were fooled already by some teachings that don't have even a single piece of evidence?
These doctors, scientist, or researchers works double on their time to help lives and to save many, and then there we are disproving their research or study that we can't even prove wrong.
Yes, it may be true that some of these vaccines would risk the lives of other people, but it doesn't mean it is harmful or dangerous, rather some people's bodies were not accepting the cure instead and rejects it that cause some side effects to different cells because of Immune System functions. The same goes for some people who got a heart or kidney transplant. Their body reacted a foreign Organ was attached and the body will reject it. So of course it needs attention and medication.
So, what am I suggesting? It's should be cleared out first that the prophet or even most of the leaders of its clergy are aware of the pandemic and wouldn't want any of its members at risk. Though we have the right to reject the call and the consequences. But I do think there is nothing wrong with it and not even anyone can prove it wrong. I stand on the neutral ground here since some people don't feel the vaccine is helpful or maybe they're not comfortable with the News that was spread about its side effects. But I don't think there's the harm in their research rather, it isn't perfect yet.

A Different Jesus: Shorten
This is one of the Posts in a Christianity Versus Mormonism And the part everyone doesn't care on there Jesus that has just one Biblical Story. |
This is what all it says, so the questions go -
- What is exactly the point of the post?
- What's the term another Jesus?
- And what can you prove in this different Jesus thing?
I will just answer it directly in my opinion about the OP. We as Latter-day Saints Believe in God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ in the Bible and we believe the Bible as the word of God. The articles of faith said it as to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. Though we will not get to it as of this time since this is not about it. Let's just get to it straight. Below is the list of things written in the Book of Mormon and see how Christian it was or different Jesus Christ. See below -
We talk and preach of Christ -
2 Nephi 25:26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
If there be no Christ, we are not -
2 Nephi 11
4 Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.
5 And also my soul delighteth in the covenants of the Lord which he hath made to our fathers; yea, my soul delighteth in his grace, and in his justice, and power, and mercy in the great and eternal plan of deliverance from death.
6 And my soul delighteth in proving unto my people that save Christ should come all men must perish.
7 For if there be no Christ there be no God; and if there be no God we are not, for there could have been no creation. But there is a God, and he is Christ, and he cometh in the fulness of his own time.
They soon believe in Christ and worship the Father in his name -
2 Nephi 25:16 And after they have been scattered, and the Lord God hath scourged them by other nations for the space of many generations, yea, even down from generation to generation until they shall be persuaded to believe in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement, which is infinite for all mankind—and when that day shall come that they shall believe in Christ, and worship the Father in his name, with pure hearts and clean hands, and look not forward any more for another Messiah, then, at that time, the day will come that it must needs be expedient that they should believe these things.
We knew of Christ -
Jacob 4:4 For, for this intent have we written these things, that they may know that we knew of Christ, and we had a hope of his glory many hundred years before his coming; and not only we ourselves had a hope of his glory, but also all the holy prophets which were before us.
Salvation comes through him -
Mosiah 3:12 But wo, wo unto him who knoweth that he rebelleth against God! For salvation cometh to none such except it be through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mosiah 16:6 And now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption. (recommend reading the whole chapter)
Okay so there are a lot and I search around 300+ on the word Christ and it seems it is the biblical Christ. So, what's the point? I don't know for you, for me, the Bible and Book of Mormon completely said something about Christ, and it's the same being as the resurrected Lord and Savior of all mankind.
If I like to post a whole bunch of Research about Jesus Christ on this single topic. This could be the entire book. But I'm lazy enough to spend just a few out of it. But I guess this has proven the same Jesus Christ in the Scripture or maybe you just don't like it to be there.
