Responding: We Will Not Become Angels

One of the posts that are so critical about LDS doctrine. So, I'll make some short responses about it. It will take time to study parts of it since I am not doing this full time. But anyway, let's just answer some of their posts and we'll make a direct response.

We, will not become Angels?

LDS believes that all of us are children of God and ALL includes Angels. Though there are Angels that got specific callings such as a message to be delivered or some warnings like in Moses times an Angel of Destruction will come to those who do not obey a specific law was given. But, what are angels? Do these beings were different species like humans, or does God look at us as equal in his sight as His Children.

A post from Daily Christian Devotional.

  • Children of God

As I have said a while ago, we are all God's Children. So angels are also Children of God, no matter what specif rules or instructions they received for the benefit of human Salvation.

Matthew 22
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

  • Judges of Angels
Of course, Angels as what they are now, were not judge as humans who gain an opportunity to experience a mortal life. They have different level of intelligence and only God knows the desired of each spirit in terms of salvation and exaltation. Here's another scripture about it.

Hebrews 1
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

The question was ask as directly to the Son of God which is Christ and his Glory above the Angels in Heaven, and yet Angels are called on different purpose, but that doesn't mean a different being a, little higher than man or maybe a little lower species. Paul in his letter also shows us something seems different and confusing.

1 Corinthians 6
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Verse 3, seems like something need to be clarified. What kind of Angels we are about to judge? Angels that sins and how come they sinned? Normally, We understand angels are celestial being who knew and talk directly to God whatever message God wants to be delivered as I said a while ago. Which mean, they know which things need to be done or principles and laws they need to abide. So, how was that anyway? How can we judge a being who are even superior in intelligence than human does? The answer is simple by just linking back what Christ said "but are as the angels of God in heaven" (Matthew 22:30).

As the Scripture once said, in Acts 17
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

We as the Latter-day Saints believe that all of us are literal God's Children and not just a mere creation that he would simply destroy anytime He wanted to. God loves His Children that even Angels, like Christ he wants us to stay by his side and filled with joy in His Kingdom.
