Save by ...?

Some of the list and question that I opened up for a discussion to know about salvation and how are we gonna define BEING SAVED?

Matthew 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven

  • Which means there we're works need to be done...

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

  • What needs to be workout if I'm already saved?

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3)

I understand that the scripture helps us learn abouts God's Goodness and we are already saved, so what's good works are for?

7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to MAINTAIN GOOD WORKS. These things are good and profitable unto men. (Titus 3)

  • Of course, we are justified by his Grace, so why do we need to carefully maintain GOOD WORKS?
Christ simple words in which said this -
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Keeping the commandments is not just by studying it, Application is necessary, and what I mean by application is simply working it out. There's no such thing as Salvation without something that needs to be done. Which means Christ words need to be applied or kept such commandments as loving our neighbours, do good to them, help the needy, observe the Sabbath and the list goes on, which basically the commandents and laws that God gave to man. So why do I maintain GOOD WORKS? Christ tolds me so, that's why I work out for it.

Another thing is, if we go along to the next verse that says this -

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (John 14)

So, what's with this verses for if I'm already saved? Why would I need a comforter that will abide with me forever if I don't need it in my salvation? What's the use of it after I accepted Christ as my Saviour, Lord and God (which is the only thing that needed for my salvation)?

To Christians who were saved by just simply saying "we're saved". How are you gonna reconcile that using your ideology?

Conference Message: Peace Makers Needed

One of the messages that I have heard this April's General Conference was the message from President Russell M. Nelson title "Peacemakers Needed". Here are some of the line that caught up my attention and motivated me to do which was the right thing to do.

True disciples of Jesus Christ are peacemakers.

One of the best ways we can honor the Savior is to become a peacemaker.

We cannot support Satan with our verbal assaults and then think that we can still serve God.

Below were some of the excerpts from a topic that I used during a conference talk were I was one of the selected speakers. Some lines were removed for personal purposes -

What were the Factors that leads us to be troublemakers -
All unrighteous conducts were actually an opposite of being a peacemaker. But I have few list that will help us understand to maintain the standards of being a Peacemakers.

Pride:
If we remember the entire story of Nephites. We can clearly see how their nations or people fail even revelation and instructions were there to provide them everything, and yet they fall and destroyed because of pride.

To become Peacemakers means being humble, and President Nelson said that
"When we humble ourselves before God and pray with all the energy of our hearts, God will grant us charity."

Charity is the antidote to contention. Charity is the spiritual gift that helps us to cast off the natural man, who is selfish, defensive, prideful, and jealous. Charity is the principal characteristic of a true follower of Jesus Christ. Charity defines a peacemaker.

Anger:
Anger never persuades. Hostility builds no one. Contention never leads to inspired solutions.
...
We cannot support Satan with our verbal assaults and then think that we can still serve God.

How can we maintain the principle of being a peacemaker?
  • Teach the Children
One of it is to live the Gospel and teach it to children and to everyone whom you have in contact with. Living the principles of the Gospel or to have a Gospel Standard living is not easy. Their are efforts need to be done and there are too much prayers, plans and study.

3 Nephi 22:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

  • Let the Holy Ghost be our Guide -
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
But prior to that verse he says this -
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Addition scriptures is in -
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

  • Repentance
If we're not used to be a peacemakers, then it is the time to change, or we must repent. God didn't created a plan to make us miserable or sad. He made the plan of salvation to make us all happy or have Joy. But in order to do that, we need to go through a principle of obedience, goodness and become a peacemakers to each individuals who came to our lives. That is his plan. Which means, we need to work out our salvation.

We need a more peaceful world, growing out of more peaceful families and neighborhoods and communities. To secure and cultivate such peace, "we must love others, even our enemies as well as our friends." … We need to extend the hand of friendship. We need to be kinder, more gentle, more forgiving, and slower to anger. We need to love one another with the pure love of Christ. May this be our course and our desire. - Howard W. Hunter, Ensign May 1992,

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
