Part 6 - Job Bautista: Christ was God

Jehovah Creates the Earth

One Job Bautista's classic quote about the nature of Christ as the Son of God or (God as most of Christians do believe).

If you want to take a deeper thought. We believe that Christ was the same being that leads the people of Old to his doctrine and Commandment. Of course he was the same Being who created the earth and everything in it and above it. Of course there is God the Father who plans everything and the Father of all Spirit. And through him and his words which is Christ, biblically speak everything wad made by him and through him. Which means that God as the Father delegate his work through his Son.

So if you ask me to believe by just some part of the scriptures that says about just one being in the beginning but never understood the words Christ made through his apostles is absurd. Christ was the same being as yesterday, today and forever, The Alpha and Omega.

Could be the Son but also could be the father as he created all things, the first being who brings life and light and the one who atone from our sins. The Son since he made himself low from the father and to everything just to perform the well of the Father.

So to think, Malachi 2:10 dismisses Christ divinity as the same being who was with God and was God, and as the scripture says it is not rubbery to be equal with God, that teaching who opposed it is absurdity. So Job Bautista, you fail to understand the Scripture by just bringing out some passages you think is good for your religion and yet you never understood how and what was it all about.

I don't think it was, I think you fail everything on your cherry picked idea. Such a poor ideology.

Represent Him Well

From a Conference Message title "Accessing God’s Power through Covenants" by Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

“You should not identify yourself as a disciple of Jesus Christ unless you intend to represent Him well.”

We become His disciples and represent Him well when we intentionally and incrementally take on ourselves the name of Jesus Christ through covenants. Our covenants give us power to stay on the covenant path because our relationship with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father is changed. We are connected to Them by a covenantal bond.

One False Prophecy = False Prophet?

I made a comment on this one that tries to open up a strawman fallacy. In which he didn't even bother looking up any of the evidence of his claim.

My comment was actually biblical and doesn't really show what it is, rather just to make them aware of some scriptural passages that don't sound like prophecy. Continue Reading to see my claim.

Below is the conversation between me and Andrew Harrison replying to my comments, but actually some others are trying to make their own points.

I will add some of the scriptural references of my claim and, as my last comments say, it doesn't mean that Christ is False.

As to support my claim, below were Christ's words and my commentaries -

Luke 21:25 ¶ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Just to make it fair according to Christ's Prophetic claim. Did it happen? How many generations that already passed away and still There's no Christ descended in Heaven?

And here's another one of my claims. The call for Nathanael, see below -

John 1:43 ¶ The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
49cNathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

This never happened in the Four Gospels or maybe I missed those parts. Nathanael did never see Christ with Angels ascending and descending with the heavens open. If we try to connect his life to the same person called Bartholomew, we still can't find a good event where he saw Angels Ascending and Descending in Heaven. And back to the question. Does it say something that Christ is a False Prophet? Of course not. Christ may be using words such as metaphor or Analogy, or maybe a parable to describe his purpose. The words may not be as it was, but it doesn't mean he was not the Son of God and as a God.

How Reverence got its link to obtain Revelations?

A question was raised: How Reverence got its link to obtain Revelations?

Here's some message from Boyd K. Packer, he said this -

Revelation and reverence are inextricably combined.  You will not in irreverence receive much revelation.  Reverence has behavioral manifestations in meetings and there is also a depth of personal reverence that is an essential if you are going to receive revelation.  Reverence means submission, it means obedience.

Book of Mormon Anachronism: Silk

One of the post that Id saw that seems critical to LDS belief. I replied back and see how it ends.

Post from one of the group that they managed.

This guy's so busy doing their research just to make a good criticism. The question that is, Does he has any credibility to stand about the subject?

We'll let's find out -

And that's how it ends.
Simply he doesn't have any idea of the subject that he brought up.

Alright, in regards of the topic. Here's the link below that answers the question about the subject, you can check out to see how was this all about and more topics about anachronisms. Check it below -

Jesus Christ is the Savior

I found a lot of post in a Social Media Groups that talks and debate about Christ as a God or not. I don't think this post will agree on the other side but I want to be fair to all, and I will prove to it in some of the scriptural passage that I know and I hope this will help us know about the nature of God and Christ.

I like to start posting some of the reply, but then I did I think some conversations were too rude or offensive. Just to be honest, I am simply defending my rights of religion and the belief that I know about the nature of Godhead.

Here you see some of the scriptural passages.

1 Timothy 4:10
10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Isaiah 43:3,11
3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
...

Hosea 13:4
4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

2 Samuel 22:33 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Acts 13:23 Of this man’s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Philippians 3:20
20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

2 Peter 1:1,11
1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness eof God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
...
Isaiah 45:15,21
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
...
Luke 2:11
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
1 John 4:14
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Luke 1:47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Obadiah 1:21
21 And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.

Titus 3:4,6
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
...

Titus 2:10,13
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
...

Titus 1:3-4
3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
...

2 Peter 3:2,18
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
...

Old Testament Epistle Dedicatory
The Lord of heaven and earth bless Your Majesty with many and happy days, that, as his heavenly hand hath enriched Your Highness with many singular and extraordinary graces, so You may be the wonder of the world in this latter age for happiness and true felicity, to the honour of that great GOD, and the good of his Church, through Jesus Christ our Lord and only Saviour.

2 Timothy 1:10
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

1 Timothy 2:3
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Isaiah 19:20
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

Journal Entry: May 21, 2023

May 21, 2023 in Bulawen Branch as a usually Sunday.

Below were picture of Bulawen Branch Relief Society. Some Stake Leaders were also here with us. After the Meeting, my wife has a schedule visit in San Agustine Ward of the same Stake (Iba Philippines Stake). She wants to meet up with the Youth Organisations for their Family History Account.

Happy Father's day to Me!

It's a lonely Sunday actually. My wife with our kids went to Batangas for a wedding. My wife asked me to be with them but I decided to stay for work and also as a Speaker. I'll be adding some of my topic here soon, for the main time, here's some of the picture of our Branch with some members. We have a Primary presentation for Father's day and it's a fine Sunday even I'm here all alone.

Responding to Carmen B. Stiller: Part 3 (Mormon God became Child)

Another topic she tries to open up about is God's existence and nature. Below are her words and how she attempted to silence the LDS teaching. But the question is, does she really knows what the message was all about? Text in Green are her comments, let's go -

Sa kanilang aklat, He that Receiveth My Servants Receiveth Me---Melchizedek Priesthood Personal Study Guide 1979-80, p. 82.

I don't know where did they got this source and I don't know if this represents the LDS view or the authors view. But let's make an attempt to answer her commentary, which is not actually her's rather a copied idea from some INC known Pasugo Editions.

So here's my idea and look closely to the word "Maaring dati'y isang bata...". Did you catch it? That word "Maaring" which simply means "maybe" in English seems a little awkward in making it a doctrine. To me personally, and since we don't believe in just limited life cycle rather a One Eternal Round. That doesn't sounds contradictions or perhaps false. Christ said that -

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

I don't know how it goes, and how did Christ saw a past experience of His Father which he simply mimics on his days. You may disagree with me but I don't see any good answer on Christ's words about the nature of God the Father.

That is plausible, no one has ever been to carbon date God's Existence and the things happened before biblical times. The scriptures said that their were already heaven, and heaven of heavens existed before our present world. Then what's with those other heavens out there? Were there creations too in some other celestial Dimension? LOL! Oh well, who knows? And will of course it's an opinion. That's how it was on the quote that you didn't even bother looking up the rest of the text, and see how you fail to understand it.

"ANG PAGTUTURO NG BULAANG PROPETA NG MORMON AY SUMASALUNGAT SA SINASABI NG DIYOS NA:

Malakias 3:6 (ADB1905)
"Sapagka't ako, ang Panginoon, ay hindi nababago,"

"ANG DIYOS ANG NAGPAHAYAG NA SIYA AY HINDI NABABAGO---NI ANINO NG PAG-IIBA AY WALANG PAGBABAGO SA KANIYA."

Basically yes, but you're taking it out of context. For instance this scripture says this -

Ezekiel 24:14 I the LORD have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD.

Versus to this one -

Jonah 3:10 ¶ And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Does it sounds unchangeable to you? He said that he would do something, but he did nothing. It really sounds something else. But that does mean he is changeable God? No, of course cause there were reasons behind it.

See how you simply misguided by your own self-esteemed and lost the important detail. Clearly you never know the nature of God.

I don't know what are you up to using some verses that has nothing to do with the subject. But if you think this is a good topic to dismiss my belief, sorry about it. I don't take advice to someone who can't even use the right context.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Save by ...?

Some of the list and question that I opened up for a discussion to know about salvation and how are we gonna define BEING SAVED?

Conference Message: Peace Makers Needed

One of the messages that I have heard this April's General Conference was the message from President Russell M. Nelson title "Peacemakers Needed". Here are some of the line that caught up my attention and motivated me to do which was the right thing to do.

True disciples of Jesus Christ are peacemakers.

One of the best ways we can honor the Savior is to become a peacemaker.

We cannot support Satan with our verbal assaults and then think that we can still serve God.

Below were some of the excerpts from a topic that I used during a conference talk were I was one of the selected speakers. Some lines were removed for personal purposes -

What were the Factors that leads us to be troublemakers -
All unrighteous conducts were actually an opposite of being a peacemaker. But I have few list that will help us understand to maintain the standards of being a Peacemakers.

Pride:
If we remember the entire story of Nephites. We can clearly see how their nations or people fail even revelation and instructions were there to provide them everything, and yet they fall and destroyed because of pride.

To become Peacemakers means being humble, and President Nelson said that
"When we humble ourselves before God and pray with all the energy of our hearts, God will grant us charity."

Charity is the antidote to contention. Charity is the spiritual gift that helps us to cast off the natural man, who is selfish, defensive, prideful, and jealous. Charity is the principal characteristic of a true follower of Jesus Christ. Charity defines a peacemaker.

Anger:
Anger never persuades. Hostility builds no one. Contention never leads to inspired solutions.
...
We cannot support Satan with our verbal assaults and then think that we can still serve God.

How can we maintain the principle of being a peacemaker?
  • Teach the Children
One of it is to live the Gospel and teach it to children and to everyone whom you have in contact with. Living the principles of the Gospel or to have a Gospel Standard living is not easy. Their are efforts need to be done and there are too much prayers, plans and study.

3 Nephi 22:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

  • Let the Holy Ghost be our Guide -
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
But prior to that verse he says this -
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Addition scriptures is in -
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

  • Repentance
If we're not used to be a peacemakers, then it is the time to change, or we must repent. God didn't created a plan to make us miserable or sad. He made the plan of salvation to make us all happy or have Joy. But in order to do that, we need to go through a principle of obedience, goodness and become a peacemakers to each individuals who came to our lives. That is his plan. Which means, we need to work out our salvation.

We need a more peaceful world, growing out of more peaceful families and neighborhoods and communities. To secure and cultivate such peace, "we must love others, even our enemies as well as our friends." … We need to extend the hand of friendship. We need to be kinder, more gentle, more forgiving, and slower to anger. We need to love one another with the pure love of Christ. May this be our course and our desire. - Howard W. Hunter, Ensign May 1992,

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Obedience: Preparation to Temple Covenants

An excerpts from my talk during Sacrament Meeting Program last May 28, 2023. Some lines were remove or not included for some personal reasons.

If you remember the time when the gospel were taught to you, there were Principles, ordinances, commandments and laws that were introduce. There were time that you feel uncomfortable to accept sometimes too difficult to observe. But when you accept the invitation to be baptized you covenanted with God (not with men) to keep or observe those teachings and Doctrine and endure.

The message that I want to share is simply obedience to the sacred covenants we have made.

I remember a story in the New Testament of Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5) that says this -

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.
9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.
11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Ananias and Sapphira on the Brescia Casket, late 4th century

The story is not actually clear if we don't know or understand the context. But the point of the story is that God loves generosity, He blesses them, but not shallow or light performances, he curses or punished people who kept not his words. Which means it's not ok to say "it's just a small thing" or "God understands it. The only thing that Godrequires on us is as simple as obedience.

Though we may sometime fall short or made a wrong choices. God prepare always a way to help us in the right path -

Doctrine and Covenants 105:5 And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself.
6 And my people must needs be chastened until they learn obedience, if it must needs be, by the things which they suffer.

Christ also shows us an example of obedience, and because of that example, salvation was now available to everyone who are willing to make sacred covenants with God -

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

God promise us abondance and not just temporal blessings also salvation -

Doctrine and Covenants 138:4 That through his atonement, and by obedience to the principles of the gospel, mankind might be saved.

I remember how the stripling warriors were saved during their battle -

Alma 57:20 And as the remainder of our army were about to give way before the Lamanites, behold, those two thousand and sixty were firm and undaunted.
21 Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them.

After all the blessings or abundance that we received, or maybe the knowledge that we know about the salvation of the Lord, what would be the best response as a follower of Christ?

Mosiah 2:22 And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

In this I share in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Praise to the Man

This is not actually a big deal to those people who really understood and willing to understand about Joseph Smith as the servant of God and nothing else that goes beyond it. But some Antagonist seems to make some new interesting criticisms to satisfy their hate and bashing of LDS teachings and standards. Here's one of the senseless topic that they opened up and I don't even need to discuss more further about it as what it makes it more senseless than making a claim about LDS worshiping Joseph Smith. REALLY? Can we use our brain for some minute to think about the subject and see if this really makes sense to LDS standards or teachings. I'd been in the LDS Church and I never found or heard Joseph was worshiped by one of the bishops. Funny Right?

Premortal Existence: Does it Exist?

Eliza Lino Abaya Challenges me
to Discuss the Pre-Mortal Existence.
She didn't respond actually
the last article I created about
the “Mother in Heaven”.
And here she is trying to open up
a new Discussion.

Alright, since LDS believes in life before mortality, I'll take the bait, and let's see if she can debunk it. Okay so let's make our stand -

  • So, what is the LDS belief or Doctrine about Pre-Mortal Existence (sometimes called pre-earth life, pre-existence, or life before mortality, etc.)?
  • Do LDS have a firm belief about life before they were born?
The Premortal Existence
LDS believes that we are literal Children of God. And literal means we existed with God as our Father with other members of the grand council (basically that includes our Prophets, leaders in General and our relatives and friends etc.) This means, we existed before in one Grand Heavenly Family with Our Father in Heaven, who provided a plan to help us achieve more like Him as a perfect being. The plan was made and earth life was introduced, but we will not talk more about this instead. So, where can we find that biblically? There are numbers of scripture that support this idea. First, God knew us -

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

This scripture demonstrates how God already knew each individual before they came out in mortality. This idea shows that if a man doesn't have an existence before they were born, then how come, God knows a Child and his intellectual well-being if God hasn't known or met a person in his Premortal State? Some say it was only applied to Jeremiah, for God has a mission for him, or perhaps he was prepared as some other prophets

Another scripture that supports this doctrine of pre-existence is found in Ecclesiastes 12:7 -

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The Hebrew word "תָּשׁ֔וּב - tā·šūḇ" simply means to go back, or to turn back, or to retreat.

Every soul after everyone dies will return to God who gives it. The word return has something to do with every soul's Existence. We cannot go back somewhere or go to a specific place if it doesn't exist or our spirits have no existence.

Just take this simple pattern. When McArthur declared that he "Shall Return" to the Philippines, Does he mean he has never been in the Philippines and that's why he will return? Of course, he was here already, and as history goes on, he went back to the Philippines the second time to assist the Filipinos in fighting for their freedom against the Japanese. But we will not go any further to that, my point is simple. As the Biblical passage shows that each spirit will return to the God who gave it, so basically, each spirit has its existence before it came to life.

My question to you Eliza Lino Abaya is -

  • If the Spirit has no Existence, then how will you apply in your theology the scriptures that said contrary to it?
Lastly, now here's the good part. Before Christ offers up himself to atone for our sins. Here's his prayer and a request from the Father in Heaven. He says this -

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory WHICH I HAD WITH THEE BEFORE THE WORLD WAS.

Now, here are the words Christ said in his plea to the Father. So my question is -

  • Does Christ have glory before the world was?
  • Where was that and what kind of place?
  • How can Christ request something he owned while there's no such thing as pre-existence?
