Oh really, okay, will you tell me how they understood this particular verse? -
The "Inner three" or Pillars. Okay, so what about the rest? Are they not Pillars?
The Seventys as officers, why would that be?
The "Inner three" or Pillars. Okay, so what about the rest? Are they not Pillars?
Galatians 2:9 - And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
The Seventys as officers, why would that be?
Numbers 11:16-17 - And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone."
and also -
Luke 10:1 - After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
And some others below -
- Hebrews 7 - Talks about another Priest, even higher than Abraham. Why was that?
- Ephesians 4:11, Ephesians 2:20 - And what about why do we distinguish Prophets, Apostles, Teachers, Evangelists, etc? What's the difference if all of them have the same functions in ministering to the people? If the difference was all about their personal testimonies as witnesses of Christ's Resurrection, but other prophets don't have that same experience, so what gives?
- Acts 6:3-6, Acts 21:8 - Why were there seven men called for a different calling? What's the use of those seventy others or the rest of the Apostles?
So, what specifically are you talking about, Tim Jackson?
