Regarding the Covenant Path, there are no exact word-for-word principles that directly help us to understand the covenant path; rather, understanding the scriptures and applying the principles needed to complete the ordinances helps us understand more clearly how this was all about a path that directly leads to salvation.

The concept of the "covenant path" is a key element in Latter-day Saint teachings, emphasizing the journey we take through life as we make and keep sacred covenants with God. This path begins with baptism and follows through other ordinances and covenants such as confirmation, receiving the priesthood (for men), temple endowments, missionary work, and ultimately temple sealings.

Here are a few scriptural references that relate to this concept of covenants and the covenant path:
  • 2 Nephi 31:18-21 talks about entering "the gate" by repentance and baptism, and emphasizes continuing on the "strait and narrow path."
  • Mosiah 18:8-10 describes the covenant made at baptism to serve God and keep His commandments.
  • Doctrine and Covenants 20:37 outlines the requirements and commitments associated with baptism, highlighting the beginning of the covenant path.
  • Doctrine and Covenants 132:7 speaks about the new and everlasting covenant, particularly regarding marriage, another key part of the covenant path.
