Shield Bug

This may be a  Mattiphus Reflexus - Tessaratomid, commonly known as a shield bug, and yes, the color is so vibrant and appealing; it seems like a golden pendant like those of jewel bugs. So I keep it here just in case this insect disappears in time. I had let it go in the wild after taking some pictures. By the way, the odor is disgusting, and it remained on my hand for some time, so I washed it afterward. It was their defense strategy before they got eaten by some predators, mostly birds. My phone didn't capture the right color of the insect; try to do some online research to see the actual color. It's actually big and shiny compared to the ordinary type of shield bug. I don't have enough information as to their life span and cycle, though this one was categorized as a true insect or a true bug. They don't have larvae that undergo a process of different stages; after the egg hatches, the young insects actually look similar to the adults, though their wing will eventually shows or grow every time they morph until they're on the adult stage.
