No such thing as Godhead - Eliza Lino Abaya

We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. - Articles of Faith 1:1

It's a statement of our belief in the Godhead consisting of three distinct personages: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

What is Godhead?

The concept of the Godhead in Latter-day Saint theology refers to the unity of three distinct beings: God the Father (Elohim), Jesus Christ (Jehovah), and the Holy Ghost.

While the term "Godhead" is used specifically in the Doctrine and Covenants, the concept is supported by several scripture references from the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other Latter-day Saint scriptures. Here are a few key biblical references that discuss the distinct roles and unity of the Godhead:

God the Father:

Matthew 6:9 "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name."
John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

Jesus Christ:

John 1:1-3, 14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Holy Ghost:

John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."

The Unity of the Godhead:

Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
Ephesians 4:4-6 "There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

These references point to the distinctness yet unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Was the word Godhead used in ancient text or writings?

From Comment Section where she responded my post

The word "Godhead" is indeed found in ancient biblical texts, though it's important to note that it's more about translation and the chosen English word to convey original scriptural meanings.

Here are a couple of examples where the term "Godhead" appears in the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible:

Acts 17:29 "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device."

Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse."

Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

The Greek words behind these translations are:

Theios (θεῖος) in Acts 17:29 and Romans 1:20, which means "divine nature" or "divinity".

Theotēs (θεότης) in Colossians 2:9, which means "divine essence" or "deity".

These terms were translated into "Godhead" in the KJV Bible to express the concept of divinity or divine nature. So yes, the concept existed in ancient texts but understanding may vary depending on translation and context.
