ABOUT Shammahel Sisgon Bustillo

August 23, 2012 - December 8, 2012

My firstborn child was named Shammahel. Do you know how I named her that name?

The name Shammah was mentioned in the Old Testament, though it is not famous in the days of David as his Brother. And on the other hand, what will be the best name for our child if she is born? I told my wife that I will be giving our child a name and will try to look at some passages of scripture to find a good name for our child. It comes to the conclusion that our child is the answer to all our prayers. I couldn't think of any good name, but then the Bible Dictionary finally helped me find a good one.

Jehovah-shammah. Heb. translated the Lord is there. In English, the name of the New Jerusalem is mentioned in Ezekiel’s vision.

- It was round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there. - Ezek. 48:35

The Word Jehovah should not be pronounced since it is sacred. So I decided to replace it with the word "EL" that stands for "Eloi" or "Elohim". So, names were supposed to be like El-Shammah. But it seems obvious in Hebrew writing, which makes it more significant to the word Jehovah-Shammah. Then I decided to twist it, so it makes it more readable in English words. Then it ended that way, Shammah-El or Shammahel.

Before she passed away, I created a Poem dedicated to her, thinking that someday she might read it. Sad to say, she didn't make it that far. So, during our little gathering before her burial, I pronounced the poem to everyone who was there.

Your name is the only meaning in our lives.
God is there
1. I lost my way and I’m afraid
I stumble for what I’d just made
You left me up and took my fear,
I’m glad my Lord that thou art there.

2. So unhappy, I’m all alone
Just sit and watch the breaking dawn
You came to me and removed my tears,
Oh, Lord my God, for thou are there.

3. Forgive me, Lord, forgive thy child,
Don’t leave me here, ‘til eventide.
Guide me, Lord, as I draw thee near,
For I know now, that thou art there.

4. Then I believe and trust in thee,
For thou leadeth me back thy way.
I'll guide my soul ‘til I am near,
In place, we dwell where God is there.

God is There Music Sheet

The song lyrics were actually a poem I wrote for my Sweet Child, Shammahel, who passed away in 2012. She's the beloved that I couldn't forget.
The Introduction music was from the Hymn called "How Great The Wisdom And The Love," and the Lyrics go on with a Hymn Title "Each Life That Touches Ours For Good".

Born on the day we needed her, and died on the day we never expected. She had a Condition called Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a heart condition normally in newborns, but it didn't close after a few months. So she needed surgery, where we never noticed how bad the condition was.

To Shammahel

So, when we're apart, remember
all the love we shared together.

And for all that love,
thank the Lord above
who showed us the way
That we can be together
forever someday ...

From Her Mother. We love you, and we miss you Shammahel.
From her Father
