A little Salo-salo before New Year

As the New Year approached, we planned a family dinner to create lasting memories. My wife and I began preparing on December 30th, gathering all the necessary ingredients for our New Year's Eve meal. We invited Sis Charina Quebido and her daughter to join our small gathering, or salo-salo. We began with a table prayer, followed by photos to commemorate the occasion. While seemingly ordinary, this evening held precious moments.

After dinner, Sis Charina and her daughter departed for home, leaving us to await the New Year's countdown. Our children, exhausted from a day of play, were already asleep. Despite their absence, the evening was filled with joy and fun. The simple act of sharing a meal together as a family, strengthened by the presence of dear friends, created a cherished memory to carry into the new year. It was a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness, and the simple pleasures in life. These quiet moments, often overlooked in the rush of daily life, are the ones that truly matter, shaping our lives and leaving an enduring impact. The warmth of family and friendship, shared amidst the anticipation of a new beginning, made this New Year's Eve truly special.
