Understanding Zephaniah 3:4 in the context with Edson Robis Rase

From Edson Robis Rase comments on my Post.

Zephaniah 3:4 reads:

Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

This verse condemns corrupt leadership within ancient religious settings. So basically if we are to answer it straight, it doesn't make any sense and connection during Joseph Smith time in context of Zephaniah. This simply means Edson Robis Rase didn't take his scripture seriously. He simply thinks this was all about Joseph while Zephaniah address this issue during his days.

Additional Scriptural Support

To broaden his argument, Smith could incorporate other scriptural references:

The right Passage of scripture that you should use Edson Robis Rase was in Matthew 7:16-20 it Discusses how true prophets are recognized by their fruits and it was Christ who teaches it addressing the Future times. Joseph could argue that the fruits of his work, such as the establishment of the Church, the publication of the Book of Mormon, and the revelations contained in the Doctrine and Covenants, testify to his integrity and divine mandate. While Edson Robis Rase can't provide any proof or evidence of their SUGO or messenger rather using the scriptures out of context and deception to their audience about their own ideology. So here's the passage for you to look on -

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Now ponder upon this question -
  • Was Felix Manalo called as a prophet? If no since you didn't recognize him as prophet but rather SUGO where you used it as his prophetic call. Then there's the red flag, Christ didn't say there will be no more prophets but rather to "know them by their fruit". This alone will questions your so-called SUGO if he has a proper authority received or just self-proclaimed.
  • What fruit did he bring? If he didn't qualify the first question regarding his authority, then why would you believe him as your SUGO Edson Robis Rase? Joseph has witnesses and even if they parted their own ways, they never deny Joseph Smith's Authority and the Book of Mormon, and even the visitations of Holy being. Did Felix Manalo has those Edson Robis Rase?
Conclusion: Edson Robis Rase need to study more carefully on which Scriptures best suits for his Criticism, this bad aesegesis could leads you to ignorance and perhaps would question your credibility about your knowledge of your very own religious ideas or doctrine that you're too behind to the truth.
