In the IBA Ward of the IBA Philippines Stake, we're thrilled to announce a Family History Program featuring Elder Decano, our dedicated Service Missionary from the Palauig Ward. This special event is geared towards the participants of the upcoming FSY (For the Strength of Youth) activity scheduled for July 2024.

Our workshop will provide invaluable training and insights into the importance of family history work, a wonderful opportunity for the youth to connect with their ancestors and understand their heritage. Elder Decano, with his extensive knowledge and passion for family history, is eager to guide and inspire the participants in this meaningful journey.

Let’s make the most of this enriching experience, helping our youth to not only prepare for FSY but also to strengthen their testimonies and bonds with their families, past and present. This event promises to be both educational and spiritually uplifting.

Here's the part that one of the members submitted his ancestors in the program.

I captured some video, but not entirely due to certain reasons. We discussed common concerns and their resolutions, such as the need for approval from extended family members or close relatives to obtain their information for performing temple ordinances.

For instance, my wife had an experience where she needed to gather complete information from her relatives. She did a fantastic job of conversing with them, showing friendliness and understanding. As a result, she was able to secure the necessary consents and perform saving ordinances for their ancestors in the temple. Her efforts not only demonstrated her dedication but also the importance of approaching family history work with patience and respect for family members' feelings and boundaries.

This example illustrates how effective communication and genuine care can facilitate the process of family history research and temple work, ultimately strengthening family bonds and fulfilling sacred responsibilities.
