I heard this song and seems like the beat was kinda fun. Without noticing the lyrics, you won't believe how this was actually sad during the Babelonian Captivity or exile.
If you notice in this chapter how they're so stressed during the Babelonian Captivity they even enclude in Psalm their emotional stress and disperations. Let's find some of it
PSALM 137
By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
As the song goes, if you analyzed the part where the people wept while away in their land of Zion.
2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
4 How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a strange land?
Slaves in the foreign land with High solid wall, and while there, most of their cultures where forbidden and even their way of worshiping their God.
5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
Their eagerness to return in their land as they remember Zion and prayer of hope, that the Lord heard them for their return.
8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
Here they're expressing their displeasure to their enemies, it may not be cursing but here we see that they're not glad or happy in the land of their enemy that they even used words or proverbs that obviously absurd.
