Spiritually-Minded is Life Eternal

2 Nephi 9:39 O, my beloved brethren, remember the awfulness in transgressing against that Holy God, and also the awfulness of yielding to the enticings of that cunning one. Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.

This was one of the emphasis that was given last October 2023 General Conference and serves as a reminder for the saints like Paul's Message in his Epistle to the Romans -

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
- Romans 8:5-10

The Prophet's Message is not actually new but rather is an invitation for us to think more about things that matter not just in this life but also beyond mortality. His address was -
“... to assist you to qualify for the rich blessings Heavenly Father has for you, I invite you to adopt the practice of “thinking celestial”! Thinking celestial means being spiritually minded. We learn from the Book of Mormon prophet Jacob that “to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.”

The message circulates around Social media and even a lot of antagonists post memes against it.

As the scripture shows, it may be good to enjoy life in mortality, but the question remains. Is it worth in eternity? The prophet added -

Mortality is a master class in learning to choose the things of greatest eternal import. Far too many people live as though this life is all there is. However, your choices today will determine three things: where you will live throughout all eternity, the kind of body with which you will be resurrected, and those with whom you will live forever. So, think celestial.

His message as he added closely leads us to realize what the scripture meant in Doctrine and Covenants section 88, which says that -

22 For he who is not able to abide the law of a celestial kingdom cannot abide a celestial glory.
23 And he who cannot abide the law of a terrestrial kingdom cannot abide a terrestrial glory.
24 And he who cannot abide the law of a telestial kingdom cannot abide a telestial glory; therefore he is not meet for a kingdom of glory. Therefore he must abide a kingdom which is not a kingdom of glory.
25 And again, verily I say unto you, the earth abideth the law of a celestial kingdom, for it filleth the measure of its creation, and transgresseth not the law— Doctrine and Covenants 88:22-25

In connection with that, President Nelson said -

In my first message as President of the Church, I encouraged you to begin with the end in mind. This means making the celestial kingdom your eternal goal and then carefully considering where each of your decisions while here on earth will place you in the next world.

A simple message and applying its principle was all it took. While compiling this article, I could see even myself how far I was in obtaining the Celestial path. Still far enough and I need more time in emerging myself to the teachings and the principles of the Celestial Kingdom, which is celestial laws.
