A friend got this little tarantula while cleaning their house. He knew that I have tarantula pets and my son Jasher wanted to explore some new things and creatures. So he decided to take it and hand it to my son. What I thought first was just an ordinary orange huntsman or lichen spider, which is common in this place. But as I take a look at it, it's not a common spider. So here are some pictures of it. The camera is not actually clear, but here are a few specifications on this species. It's actually reddish or dark red, not black or brown. Also, as I have said, I have tarantula pets, so basically I knew some species of old-world tarantulas, but few species in the Philippines, and I don't have enough information on them. I don't know if it is a Philippine Dwarf (P. Baeri), which is normally dark, or Orphnaecus Philippinus, which is normally orange. I don't know. Anyway, what do you think it is? The location is Zambales, Philippines.
I'll be keeping this one; if I release it in the wild, it could only have a 20-30% survival rate since I don't know exactly their habitat. If you have a better suggestion, I'll appreciate it.
