So here's the thing about the context, this was actually Paul's word to Timothy were he was concern about the upcoming apostacy of the Early Christian Church and that he (Paul) encourage Timothy to continue on the things that he had learn from his youth that was taught by his Parents specially his mother Eunice, and that is to learn from the Scriptures.
So, the Question was, was Paul's word to Timothy all about the Complete Bible in our time? Straight answer: NO! During Timothy's time, the scriptures they mentioned were only composed of the Old Testament, which is Tanakh, which comprises -
- Torah (Law or Teaching): First five books, kilala din sa tawag na Pentateuch.
- Nevi'im (Prophets): Historical accounts and prophecies.
- Ketuvim (Writings): Collections of poetry, wisdom literature, at iba pang kasulatan.
